Deliveroo’s Rider Thank You Fund

On 8 March, Deliveroo announced our expected intention to become a public company in the near future.

The whole of the Deliveroo team is very excited about this, but we wouldn’t be here without you.

Riders are truly at the heart of our business, and thanks to the efforts of you and others, millions of customers across 12 markets choose to order through Deliveroo every week  - whether they’re after the perfect pizza or their home essentials, they know they can count on us to deliver.

Your commitment to great service has enabled us not only to build trust with customers, but with our 115,000 restaurant and grocery partners too. And over the last year, you’ve helped us do so much more than just deliver delicious food. Your work has played a vital role in supporting businesses across the UK, and enabled vulnerable people or those self-isolating to stay safe indoors throughout a global pandemic.

If Deliveroo goes ahead with an IPO, we will be recognising the riders that have made the most significant contributions to the company since we first began operating in 2013 by offering them a cash reward* through Deliveroo’s new Rider Thank You Fund.

These riders have already been told that they’ll be receiving a cash reward via email and a message in the app.

The amount a rider may receive will depend on how many orders they have delivered since they started working with us and the overall number of orders delivered in the market they ride in. All riders who have delivered 2,000 or more orders, have delivered their first order over a year ago, and have delivered an order in the last 90 days as of 4 March are eligible for a cash reward.

In addition to the Rider Thank You Fund, we have also announced a £50m Community Fund, through which over the next 5 years we will invest in initiatives to support local communities, restaurants and riders. We will share more information on this with you soon and will want to invest in your priorities.

Deliveroo is also making £50m of shares available to customers as part of a Community Offer. Riders are able to participate if they have Deliveroo customer accounts.

FAQs can be found below. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Rider Support team. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating this major milestone in Deliveroo’s journey together!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why has Deliveroo decided to go public?

Deliveroo has announced that it expects to become a public company. Final decisions will follow.

This would give Deliveroo access to a wider base of investors which will help the company to grow and to continue to invest heavily in supporting riders. We have recently expanded the Rider Academy, introduced free login, and gave customers the ability to tip you after they’ve completed their order, and plan to invest in similar such innovations to give you the flexible and secure work we know you value. And as we grow we will work with more partners, which will mean more work will be available for you.

Where can I find more info about the IPO/Deliveroo’s customer offer?

What cash rewards are available through the Rider Thank You Fund?

All riders who have delivered 2,000 or more orders, have delivered their first order over a year ago, and have delivered an order in the last 90 days as of 4 March are eligible for a cash reward. Depending on how many orders they have delivered, an eligible rider may receive £10,000, £1,000, £500 or £200.

The amount an eligible rider may receive is based on the total number of orders they have delivered while working with Deliveroo.

Any stacked orders you’ve delivered will have been counted as 2 orders towards your total number of orders delivered.

I’ve been told I’m eligible. When will I receive my cash reward?

You will receive your reward if Deliveroo goes ahead with an IPO, as we announced our expectation to.* We’ll get in touch to confirm your reward is on the way in the near future.

No. Whether you would receive a cash reward and/or the amount you are eligible for was set on 4 March, shortly before Deliveroo first announced our expected intention to become a public company.

Yes you can. What you choose to do with your reward is entirely up to you.

The Rider Thank You Fund was designed to recognise riders who were eligible for a reward on 4 March, shortly before Deliveroo first announced our expected intention to become a public company. But don’t worry, we are actively working on different ways to ensure everyone who rides with us is recognised for their ongoing contributions to the company.
